Belve Turner Obituary

Mr. Belve Russell Turner, 71, of Chimney Rock Road, Harrodsburg, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 1, 2003. He was born June 27, 1932 in Martin, Kentucky. He died at his home after a long illness. His parents were the late Belve and Audrey Oney Turner. He was a graduate of City High School in Winchester, Ky. in 1950. He was a Korean War Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the Oleika Temple of Lexington and the V.F.W. He was a member of the Harrodsburg United Presbyterian Church. He retired from LeRoy’s Jewelry Co. and also Fayette County Schools. Russell never really retired. He loved his home on Herrington Lake where he enjoyed gardening and all the beautiful wildlife. He was a people person. He enjoyed the friendship of everyone and will surely be missed. Russell is survived by his wife Patsy Fightmaster Whalen Turner, a daughter Linda Turner Taulbee. Three brothers Richard Turner, Keville Turner, and Neville Turner, two sisters Beverly Cawood and Sue Stafford. Also two stepsons Gary Whalen and Mark Whalen; a Godchild Lyndsey Cheuvront and her daughter Kennedy and her mother Kelly Cheuvront. Two grandchildren Amanda Taulbee and Jesse Ray Coomer; two step grandchildren Kayla and Morgan Whalen. He was preceded in death by his daughter Pamela Turner Coomer and his brother George Raymond Turner. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 6, 2003 at the Harrodsburg United Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Joe E. Tarry officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in Lexington Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. To 8:00 p.m. Sunday and after 7:00 a.m. Monday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.
