I had the pleasure of working with Ben in Death Valley. I arrived at the start of June, and over the course of 4 months, Ben became my best friend. He was old enough to be my dad, and frankly I looked up to him as one. Days feel like months in the middle of the desert, it felt like I knew him for years. He is without the most humble, intelligent and just all around great person. We laughed, fought, cried, partied. I broke my shoulder, arm, elbow, and wrist on his bike and was unconscious with a concussion for a minute. But I can still remember him brushing my shoulders off, saying "it's just a scratch dude, you'll be alright" when I finally managed to limp myself and the bike back. I learned a lot from Ben. I admired him greatly. And I loved him a lot. I am so terribly sorry for your loss. You'll be in my prayers and am always a text or call away. God bless.
