Betty Faye Claiborn

November 12, 1943 - August 5, 2025

Lexington, Kentucky - passed away peacefully on at her home. Born in Independence, LA, She was the second of seven children of Freddie L. Claiborn and Ida Mae Turner (Brumfield). a Graduate of Alcorn State University, Betty taught for more than 30 years in Fayette County Public Schools, most notably at Bryan Station High School. She was a Sunday School teacher, published author, and community leader, remembered for her wisdom,faith,and storytelling. She is survived by her children Tennille Lynn Haskins and Trevor Moran Claiborn Sr.; grandchildren Darien, TaRay, Trevor Jr.; and Caroline Faye; six great-grandchildren; siblings Joann B McCray, Bobbie B. Johnson, Gloria Brumfield-Coleman, Marilyn Brumfield-Young, and Clifton Brumfield Jf.; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be held August 23, 1-3 PM at Marlboro-Radcliffe Community Center, Lexington, KY
