Brad Harris Obituary

Harvey "Brad" Harris, 72, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025.

Brad Harris was born on March 22, 1953 to Bobby Roy and Doris Harris in Houston, Texas. He spent his formative and high school years in Cross Plains, Texas, graduating as a Buffalo in 1971. Brad attended Southwest Texas State University graduating with honors and degree in Political Science and minor in Business. Brad went on to attend University of Houston Law Center and received a Doctorate of Juris Prudence in 1982. He is survived by his children, Brooke Hunt (John) and Bo Harris (Geneva), and five grandchildren, Tyler Hunt, Preston Grayson, Chloe Hunt, all of Richmond, Kentucky, Hudson Harris and Demi Harris, of Lexington, Kentucky, one brother Jay Harris (Sunny) and one sister Elizabeth Harris. Brad started his career in his hometown of Cross Plains and was elected to District Attorney in Callahan County and served 1988-1992. Brad then moved with his family to Wimberley, Texas in 1992 and continued his career in personal injury, social security disability, insurance law, and representing many injured individuals. Brad then moved with his family to Lexington, Kentucky in 1998 and continued his career. Brad was a co-founder of Harris Federal Law Firm in 2005 helping federal employees with their rights to workers compensation, occupational disability and in employment disputes. He was a member of the Texas, Kentucky, and Washington DC Bar Associations. Brad was known for his quick wit, nonjudgmental love, and hard work and dedication and will be forever missed and cherished. Brad's legacy will live on in the lives he touched and the business he created. A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, October 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Limestone Hall, 215 West Main Street in Lexington, Kentucky.
