Cecile McBrayer Obituary

LAWRENCEBURG - Cecile Virginia Driskell McBrayer, 97, died Tue, March 29, 2011 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center. She is the widow of Blakemore McBrayer and was born Nov 6, 1913 in Spencer County, KY, daughter of the late Charles and Fannie Simpson Driskell. Mrs. McBrayer was a graduate of Mt. Eden High School and a 1968 graduate of the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor Degree in Education. She formerly taught in Spencer and Anderson County in KY and 9 years in High Point, NC. She was a member of the KY and Anderson County Retired Teachers Assoc. She is a member of the First Christian Church, the Victory Sunday School Class, former chairperson of the Verna Bond Circle, CWF president, Sunday School Teacher, Supt. of Primary Depart., and deaconess. She is survived by a son, Jerry D. McBrayer and his wife Winona of Georgetown; 6 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two sons, William Ronald McBrayer and Gary B. McBrayer; 4 sisters, Della Howser, Corinne Catlett, Cathryn Young and Edythe Cotton; 3 brothers, Ellis, J.D. and Herman Driskell. Services 11am Fri, April 1, 2011 and visitation 5-8pm Thu at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home.

We will always remember fondly the wormth kind and jentle nature of our belovid Aunt Verginia. Her sweet nature brought our families together for many a gathering and made us a better family. She will be missed by us all.
