Charlie always called all of the ladies at work as well as myself, "Sis". When he learned that I had been saved and joined church, he stopped me in the hallway and was talking with me. He said..I have always called you Sis and now I can call you that and really mean it. What a wonderful thing to say to me. I will never forget that. I really miss Charlie but I know we will meet again. Then my "Brother" what a glorious day that will be.

I loved to hear him sing when he came to our revival meetings. Thinking of him yelling at the boys while he coached brings a smile. He will be missed by all...continuing to pray for the family during this most difficult time.

I was sorry to hear about Charlie's passing. I fondly remember his years as a Trooper (and friend) in Breathitt County. He and my Father, Charles Brown, were good friends---there are lots of good memories there. Charlie was a dedicated Trooper and a good man. I will keep the Cornett family in my thoughts and prayers.

I'll always remember Coach Cornett on the othe other side of the floor and the love and respect everyone in the gym had for him. Also when you all came down to Pensacola to visit Justin and took everyone out to Papa Johns to watch UK win their tournament game that night. My deepest sympathies to your family.

My favorite memory of Charles: a children's home team was invited to our annual tournament, they had kids who where handicap playing for them. Another team played them and beat them by 4o points. Charlie was not happy at all, he knew that we had to play the winning team. He said "this is not going to happen at our tournament we'll show them!" and show them we did I think we beat them nearly 80 points. I spent much of the game on the bench while the starters stomped all over that team. Coach(Charlie) taught us a great deal that day about character and respect; although it seemed our team was teaching the lesson. I'm sure each one of us on the team that day learned what it meant not to take advantage of those that are less fortunate than ourselves and to respect others. My favorite of the many lessons Charles taught us who played for him.
