Bob and Family
It is with mixed feeling that I write this letter. Death is sad, but also rewarding for a saint.
Your wife, Corrie was a good woman. I know that she loved her family and her God, by so many of the stories of remembrance that we all have. She has gone to be with her Saviour, preparing a place for us who one day will see Him face to face.
I look at life, probably a little different than most, some would say slightly off the wall most of the time.
But one thing I believe with all my heart is that Christ is with us always, from our pre-birth to our leaving the land of the dying to the eternal land of the living.
I view life as a sleep over, where we invite Jesus the Christ to stay with us and He does. Sometimes for many years and sometimes far to short. It seems there comes a time when Jesus simply says to us,"hey why don't you stay over at my house, we're closer to my house than yours."
It is at this time that we say death rings its resounding bell, when really it is the doorbell of heaven with Christ announcing to Abba Father "Hey Dad its me and Corrie, can she stay over tonight?"
Lovingly Abba Father says "no problem" and the next day she asks if she can stay cause she loves being there so much.
Corrie, probably misses you all, but in her new home, not nearly as much as you and yours miss her.
I am certain that if she had any last thing to say to you and her family, it would be simply, "Looking forward to you being here".

Your friends in Christ

Dear Bob...

Murray and I were shocked and saddened to read of Corrie's death.

I have so many great memories of our friendship which started shortly after our families moved to Victoria.

One memory that meant so much and has always stayed with me is how kind she and her dear mother were to me after the death of my own mother when Corrie and I were twelve years old.

Our prayers are with you, Debbie, Cindy, and all the other members of your family as you go through this very difficult time.

What a comfort it is to know we have the assurance that one day we will all be together again!

I have known the Hartman family almost as long as I've known my own. We met at Sunday School in the mid-fifties and throughout the years that bond,as with so many of our generation, stayed strong in friendship from our common, deep abiding faith in God. What wonderful memories I and many others have of Corrie and her remarkable family. My heart goes out to all of you. What an enormous loss.

I have very fond memories of Corrie through GT and Youth for Christ. As a youth at GT, Bob and Corrie often opened up their place to us. I remember Corrie as a kind and generous person. She shared her faith by living it out and I think that is what I remember most. I know when God greeted Corrie at the door of heaven He said, "well done my good and faithful servant".

Our thoughts and prayers are with you Bob, as well as Debbie and Cindy and your families.

So many fond memories of Mrs. Atherton from years gone by. As a friend of Debbie's, there were wonderful times at birthday parties, church events, school, even softball... Mrs. Atherton was always smiling, elegant, beautiful and happy to join in on the fun. A longtime friend of my mom's, Judi (Gaffney) we were both so surprised to hear this unexpected news, but at peace knowing where Cora is now... God Bless all the Atherton's and their extended family members. Much love, and sending prayers for strength in this truly difficult time.
