David Darrell Obituary

CARLISLE -David Gene Darrell, 60, went to be with the Lord on November 23, 2017. He was born June 15, 1957, in Nicholas County, to Jean and the late Edgar Allen Darrell. He was a graduate of Nicholas County High School and Maysville Community College. He was a dedicated employee of the United States Postal Service for 37 1/2 years, a former farmer, and a member of the Carlisle Christian Church. Besides being a man filled with a love of life that he gladly shared with others, he had many other talents and hobbies. He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Allen Darrell. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Pricy, daughters Alison (Brandon) Murrell and Megan (Mark) Wiggins, grandchildren Campbell and Cannon Murrell, step-grandsons, Jacob and Daniel Wiggins, his mother, Jean Darrell, one sister, Charlene (Greg) Horn, one brother, Don Allen Darrell, several brother and sister-in-laws, nieces, and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 27, 2017 at Carlisle Christian Church with Bro. Steve Smith and Chaplain Billy Clapp officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, November 26, 2017 after 5:00 p.m. Pallbearers are Frankie Hunt, Doug Miller, Miles Hughes, Keith Cannon, Bud McLean, Jacob Wiggins, Rhonda Markland, and Mike Hammonds. Honorary pallbearers are Eddie Day, Albert Hamilton, Jamie Davis, Nate Allison, Kevin Wells, Kevin Browning, Mark Vice, Nathan Kirby, and Larry Baker. Clark Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements. David's main passion in life was his family so in lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to Farmers Deposit Bank to savings accounts for Campbell Murrell and Cannon Murrell to be used for their future education.

I will miss David's smile. While he laughed a lot, he could also be serious about things that were important. Missing him.
