Will never forget Scott Guiler. He was a caring, devoted, assuring, doctor. He made me feel like I was his only patient.I was a patient then I was a employee. He and Mike were very good employers. Treated employees and patients alike.I was asked several times if I felt weird working for the doctor that brought my two children into this world.I absolutely never felt anything other than being his nurse, friend. He will always be missed. God need another angel,so he called him home.My thought and prayers go out to his family. There may be other grand children now. Make sure they keep his memory alive.Tell each new member to your family what a blessing he was and share your memories with them.God bless.

I just learned of Dr. Guiler passing away. He was my doctor from 1988 until I moved away from Lexington in 2007. He was a wonderful doctor. Always had time to listen to you and answer questions, he never rushed you or acted like you were imposing on him. I was greatly saddened. I know that his family, his patients and everyone he worked with have a spot in their heart and life that can't be filled by anyone else.

I am so grateful for the awesome experience that he gave my daugther and me in delivering her and caring for her during my pregnancy. Who knew years later that he would become her physician years later. He is and will always be the most remarkable man and remarkable spirit that we would have ever encountered on this earth. May God bless his family for the amazing sacrifice that they endured as he gave himself to so many families. May God bless and keep you! He will sorely be missed. In thoughts and prayers.

I just found out about Dr. Guiler. I'm at such a loss for words. Doctor Guiler delievered my 23 years ago, he cared for my mother for about 20 years, she was the reason I then became a patient of his. I will always cherish his sincere, loving, and compassionate personality. He had such a way of making you feel like you were the only patient he had. That is so rare. He will be missed. I pray that God continue to strengthen and guide his family, friends, co-workers and those who knew him!!!

Scott was my doctor for 20 years. I met him while enduring my third miscarriage. He was compassionate, intelligent, gentle, kind, and had a smile that lit up his face and the room. He delivered my daughter (the joy of my life). I miss him already.

To the Guiler family.... I met Dr. Scott 17 years ago when I was afraid to hope I'd finally become pregnant after trying for several years & having had a horrible experience with another doctor. He confirmed my hopes & helped me through both that pregnancy and the one that followed less than 2 years later. Mike got to "do the honors" and "play catch" when both of my children made their first appearance but I always returned to Dr. Scott. I just heard about his passing & I'm so sorry for your loss. God bless you all & may peace be with you.

To the Guiler family, I, along with my daughter, was so heart broken to hear about your loss. Dr. Guiler was an excellent doctor in caring for me. He delivered 2 of my granchildren and my 2 1/2 year old son. He smiled after my son was born and said,"Don't have any more." We both laughed. I was 45 at the time and had lots of problems while being pregnant. I will miss him terribly.

To the Guiler family, I am heart broken to hear about your loss. Dr Scott delivered my son on 4/18 at 2:07am, I live 2 hours away from CBH and was afraid I would deliver on I75, we would joke about that at each appt., I was a patient of Dr Mike's for 10 yrs and then started seeing Dr Scott last year, I couldn't have asked for a better OB. I didnt hear about his passing until I went back for my six week check up. I got to know Dr Scott during my pregnancy and he was a kind and caring man, he always knew how to put a smile on your face...he will be greatly missed.

My family and I just heard of Dr. Scott's passing and are all truly saddened. Although Dr. Mike has always been my doctor (and my mother's doctor) Dr. Scott has always been very important to us. 21 years ago he delivered me while his brother was at a basketball game and almost 13 years later he delivered my baby sister. He will be greatly missed.

We just learned of Dr. Scott's passing today when the nurse called to change my daughter's six week check up. She said they believe that my granddaughter is the last baby Dr. Scott delivered. She was special anyway but even more special now. My daughter had two very difficult pregnancies and we believe that prayer and God using Dr. Scott as a tool is the reason we have those kids today. The first one was probably about to be a miscarriage and was born with a cleft lip & palate because he stopped growing at that time but God and Dr. Scott pulled them through. The last baby was born at 39 weeks & Dr. Scott scheduled her for that weekend because he said he wanted to be the one to deliver her. Amazing how God works. When he left the hospital he gave my daughter a hug - which he had never done before and told her that she did a great job (it had been a very hard pregnancy). She said she noticed his eyes were dark but she thought he was probably sleepy. Dr. Scott always prayed for my grandson during his surgeries and we know he is in a better place but he is very missed. Our hearts ache and we can't imagine how all you, his family are feeling. Dr. Scott was loved very much by many people and that is a great legacy to leave. You will see him again some day. God be with you.

I just heard that Dr. Scott passed away in April. Dr. Scott was a wonderful doctor that always put you at ease with his calm and laid back nature. I have been seeing Dr. Scott for 15 years and he delivered my son. My daughter just recently turned 18 yrs and went to her first appointment with Dr. Scott in Dec. 2009. She was so glad to have Dr. Scott as her doctor. Dr. Scott will be so dearly missed as no one will be able to replace him in my eyes. My Deepest and Sincere Sympathy to his wife, children, and his brother Dr. Mike.
You are in my thoughts & Prayers,

Dear Riva and family,
Dennis came home the other night and told me about your great sorrow and loss of Scott. I am so sorry that we were not there to pay our respects. Your family is dear to us. It began with Mike being my doctor and Scott filling in and delivering Gloria-Ashton almost 16 years ago. Then somehow you opened your hearts to our family and aksed us to join your family to celebrate Thanksgivings. Scott was a wonderful man, doctor father and friend. He always had a smile for us and made us feel so welcome like part of the family. That meant so much to us as we had little falmily here. I know your pain and greif are infinite right now; but Scott brought so much life to everyone he encountered, he will live forever in those memories and our hearts. We were so privledged to have known him. If there is anything you need ever we would be honored to help. Take care of yourself Riva, may God give you peace and comfort as you carry on and in the moments you feel that you just can not carry on. We love you all. Thank you so much for your friendship through the years. You and yours will be in our prayers. Please give our respects to Mike and the rest of the family too.

I have been seeing Dr. Mike and Sherry for approximately eleven years. Dr. Mike delivered my first child, Lilyann. After learning that I was pregnant last July my husband and I began seeing Dr. Scott. Dr. Scott was very caring to the extent of taking every precaution while I was pregnant to ensure the safety of myself and my baby. I was blessed to have Dr. Scott deliver my son, Lucas Matthew Ray, seven weeks ago. I learned of Dr. Scott's passing the day he died. My heart goes out to the family and my thoughts and prayers continue to be with you.

I was heartbroken when my husband told me this morning about Dr. Guiler's passing. He has been my doctor for over 14 years. He brought my 2 daughters (ages 11 and 14) into this world. He was indeed a gentle soul, with a sense of humor, too. I feel blessed to have had him for a doctor, and I will miss him and his Hawaiian shirts. My heartfelt condolences to your family.

I just learnt of your passing couple of hours ago, Scott. I had an appointment with my PCP this afternoon. He wanted to know when my next papsmear appointment will be and with whom. I told him in July, with Dr. Scott Guiler. He told me that one of the Guilers passed, he wasn't sure which one. I told him how Dr. Scott had been my doctor since 1994 and how Scott delivered all my three children. I rushed back here to check the newspaper only to find out it was you, Scott. I have been beside myself and so emotional. Dr. Tackett, I have not met you, but I always see you and your entire family in Scott anytime I have an appointment with him. Yes, your pain must be unbearable, but know that he is resting with the Lord. Heaven have gained the gentliest and kindest addition. May the Lord hold you, your Children and your entire family in His arms as you go through this lost. Remember, this life is always too short, but eternity is very long. You will see Scott again to part no more. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

My prayers go out to Dr. Scott's wonderful wife, Dr. Tackett and his family and wide circle of friends. Heaven has gained a gentle giant whose heart is larger than life. Your faith and love of the Lord will sustain you as will the love and respect of all who have been touched by Scott and you, throughout this lifetime. I cannot imagine a more befitting legacy than the one Scott has left behind. The lives you have both touched in your time here on earth has been immense. Peace, love and prayers to each of you .

Dr. Guiler will be sincerely missed by all those who knew him as his patients. I was one of those patients, and one who shared his birthday. Each year he reminded me how young I am because he was 3 years older. He was a man of warmth and passion who treated his patients with respect; each one of us feeling as if he knew us personally. To his family, you have my sincerest sympathy. He was a great man who loved you so and I am sorry you didn't have him for a longer time.
May God embrace and surround you in His love and may the memories you hold of Dr. Guiler comfort and sustain you.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Guiler family. I am so sorry for your loss. Dr. Guiler has been a wonderful doctor to me. I live two hours from Lexington and it was always worth the drive to have a doctor like Dr. Scott. He delivered my first of four children in 1991. My last pregnancy was rather complicated. I broke my leg when I was 9 months pregnant. Dr. Guiler sat with me as I had surgery. He sat very calm with his leg crossed and a book in his hand. He always made me feel at ease and reassured me that everything was going to be ok. My heart goes out to the family I know you will miss him.

Words can not express the sadness over the loss of such a wonderful doctor. Our deepest sympathy to the Guilers family and to his wonderful nursing staff. Dr. Scott Guiler delivered my youngest daughter almost 21 years ago and he was also my oldest daughter's OBGYN. We always remembered him as a very calm, kind, caring and patient doctor and person. I don't know where to begin, there are not enough words to express how much Dr. Guiler was like family to all everyone in L&D and will be missed.
We all need to speek up and let everyone know how important they are to us and how we appreciate everything that they do.
I worked with Dr.Guiler on Saturday night while he had several deliveries and I can still see him standing at our desk while writing orders with his glasses on his head with a smile on his face even though it was 4:00 in the morning.
I just wish that there would have been some kind of sign so that I could have said goodbye and to let him know how much everyone loved him. He was always such a caring man with everyone we will miss you lots Dr. Gulier. Our prayers are with your family at this difficult time.

I was so lucky to have had Dr. Guiler as my physician, although only for a short time. He delivered our first child, a son, in 2008, I had to have a cesarean and was so terrified that he actually knelt beside my bed and prayed with me before I went in to surgery. Not many physicians would do that. He was truly one of a kinda and will be missed tremendously! My thoughts and prayers are with you all!

My deepest Sympathy to the Guiler family and to his wonderful nursing staff: Dr. Scott was more than my doctor, he was my friend. I first met Dr.Scott in the early 80’s when he was working at Woodford Hospital as an ER doctor. After he went into private practice I decided I wanted him to be my doctor. He delivered my son, and was the most calm, caring doctor I have ever been associated with. There was always something special about him, he made everyone (even expectant fathers) feel calm. Seeing him over the years, he always had a quick and reassuring smile and he always took the time to make you feel comfortable.
Just seeing that there are so many entries into this memorial site, shows the family just how much he was respected and loved. I don’t think I will ever know another doctor quite like him. My prayers are with you all.

Dr. Scott Guiler was my OBGYN when I was pregnant with my son Zachariah. Often times going to the doctor can be nerve wrecking but Dr. Guiler was always caring, thorough and patient. He made sure all your concerns and questions were answered. You could tell he was a christian and that is why I loved going to his office. Thank you for helping me bring a healthy energetic little boy into this world. My family won't forget you. See you in Heaven one day!

My deepest sympathy to your family at the loss of a wonderful doctor and person. I was asked in the mid-eighties to switch from Dr. Mike to his brother, because he had just started and wanted to start seeing patients. I switched and Dr. Scot delivered all four of my children...
The world has lost a wonderful person and I will miss him greatly. Rest in peace, Dr. Guiler!!!

I am very saddened by Dr Scott's passing and by his wife and loved one's loss. I have been a patient of his since the 80s and he delivered my daughter 17 years ago. It was just last month where she saw him as a patient and I was very proud to introduce her to a very caring and compassionate doctor. He will always be remembered in my heart.
Love and prayers to all of his loved ones.

Dr. Tackett, reading entry after entry in this guestbook, not only did you lose a wonderful husband, but the world has lost a great doctor as well. Find comfort in knowing that your husband has joined the "GREAT PHYSICIAN" and someday you all will be reunited!! Until then, may GOD wrap his loving arms around you and your family and comfort you as only he can do.

Scott will be dearly missed. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to his family. I had the honor of doing his last C/S on his last Saturday on-call. I only wish I had known to say "good-bye" to him. There will be a void in our Labor Hall dept, without Scott.
I know you are at a better place. God be with you.

Dr. Scott Guiler was the best doctor in the world. I was a high risk women in my late 20's having my first child. He was always reassuring me everytime I saw him everything would be ok. Then when she was born by c-section he smiled and looked at me and said she is wonderful. I will greatly miss him as my doctor and my prayers go out to his family.

I had the pleasure of working with Dr Scott in the office. My heart hurts for his family as I know how close he was to them all. I hope they can find some strength by remembering what a positive and caring outlook Dr Scott had. I pray God will comfort you in your time of grief.
