I am so sorry to hear about David. I remember him well from TLS (I was in Steve's class). Somehow, knowing him at that age, makes this harder to understand. I feel like we should still be 13.

Our thoughts & prayers are with you.

Steve and Sherry,

I am so sorry to hear about David's passing. I cannot imagine the heartbreak you must be feeling. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers often. Mom also has been thinking of you, even though it's difficult for her to reach out to you. We miss you and want you to know that David was well loved and will never be forgotten.
May the Lord comfort you,

I'll always remember Dave. I met him in Atlanta when we worked together at MindSpring. We shared many fun, crazy times then, which sealed our friendship over the years.

Dave's sense of humor was brilliant. My defining memory of him was in 2004 when he visited me in London. We had such a great time motorcycling all over the city. As ever, Dave made friends where-ever we went.

Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss. I shall miss him.

Dr. & Mrs. Schindler,
Please accept my deepest sympathies. I first met Dave when I started working at MindSpring about ten years ago and we have remained friends throughout the years. I will miss him very much.
Sincerely,

Although David was a year ahead of me at Henry Clay, our paths crossed from time to time in the hall, at football games or the occassional party. He was always good for a laugh and that is what I will remember - a good spirit with no adversaries. We didn't used first names back then - it was always "Shindler" this and "Shindler" that usually followed by a good snicker. I am very sorry to hear about his passing - my thoughts and prayers are with you a this time of sorrow. Just know he made a lot of people smile and laugh.

As I knew David very well, in college, I have reflected further upon the good memories that I have of him, memories which most definitely bring a smile to my heart.

He was then my 'little brother', in the fine fraternity of which we were members, as was his terrific older brother, Steve.

He was very generous, to me, and I'm sure, to many others. As we both lived on campus, I remember that he borrowed my car, during those years, a few times, to run simple errands. He always said that my basic AM-FM radio, which played as much static as music, left a lot to be desired. One time, he needed to borrow it, to 'run an errand'. It was about the time of my birthday, that year. What an incredible surprise it was when I got it back with a new AM-FM-cassette player installed, as a birthday gift! Great music, from then on!

My mother had called me, yesterday, having seen the notice of his untimely passing, in the local paper. She remembers him well, from those 25 years ago, as always being genuinely very polite and respectful to her, and as a great friend to me. I believe that that really says something when a mother remembers well, and remembers fondly, someone her child knew well, from several decades prior; that really speaks highly of David, and of his family and of his upbringing.

Of course, his family was always beyond gracious to me, and his father was instrumental, years ago, in me also becoming a physician.

David was always kind and good-hearted. A wonderful guy. I'll always have great memories of him.

David was always a most wonderful guy. He was a great friend, to me, and to many, in college. Always happy, always friendly, always glad to help anyone in any way. Very well-liked by everyone he met, it seemed. He was very sociable, and made numerous friends, quite easily. He was easy-going, and a comfortable person to be around. He was intelligent, but I saw him, many times, when he would, purposefully, easily and kindly talk with another person, even if the other were somewhat awkward or shy. He was quite popular, in college. He had a wonderful heart, and it showed, frequently.

He certainly comes from a most wonderful family, as anyone who knows them would undoubtedly agree. They clearly loved him a great deal, and always cared deeply about his well-being.

Though I had not talked with him in some years, I will miss him.

God, I ask You to bring Your great comfort and peace to his family. Let them laugh at the many memories of the good times, and let them know of Your heart and love for him, too. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

I knew David from college, and shared a home with he and others in Washington, DC in the early nineties. I remember David as a kind hearted, gentle person who would gladly give the shirt off his back to help his friends. He had a unique, witty sense of humor, and he was always delightful to be around.
