Edyth Rollins

ROLLINS Edyth S, 98, passed away on August 29, 2012 at Lexington, KY. Born in Owenton, KY on July 22, 1914, her parents were the late Birda (James) Sidebottom, Lexington and Kenneth (Alma) Greene, Owenton, KY. She was the widow of Carl Prentice Rollins, Sr (married 63 years). Survived by five children: James T. Rollins, Mary Edyth (Julian) Tackett, Carl P. (Brenda) Rollins, II, Kenneth (Teresa) Rollins, Kathy (Aubrey) Wells; and sons-in-law Jack Hillard and Albert Toombs. She was preceded in death by daughters Patsy Ann Hillard and Barbara Jean Toombs and daughter-in-law Lois Theobold Rollins. She had 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Rollins, a member of Southern Hills United Methodist Church, served as president of Triad Homemakers and also belonged to the Midway Women's Club and Woodford County Homemakers. Many thanks are extended to Hospice of the Bluegrass, Dennis Burrows, Southern Hills United Methodist Church and the New Life Circle for their kindness, Hospice of the Bluegrass and to the staff at Lexington Country Place. Visitation from 5-8pm Friday at Milward-Southland. Services will be conducted by Rev. Dennis Burrows at the funeral home at 11:30am Saturday, with burial in the Midway Cemetery.
