Lexington, Kentucky - Elizabeth Ridgley Park
Born December 14, 1926 in Lexington, Ky. Daughter of James and Elizabeth Kimbrough Park. Survived by brother James Park, Jr. (Kay). Nephew John Park (son Eli) Lexington; Nephew James Kimbrough Park (Kathleen), daughter Charlotte, son Alexander-Boston, Ma. Niece Mary Park Stolder (Steve), daughters Bessie and Lilah-Seattle, Wa. She was honored to have Godsons: Stephen Cox, Dan Ruff, and Hal Scott (deceased). She attended University of Kentucky Elementary and High School, graduated from UK with an A.B. in Psychology, later earning Master degrees in Education and in Library and Information Science. Over a number of years she held teaching positions at branches of the University of Kentucky (Lexington and Ashland) and held administrative roles at colleges- Bethany, Centre, Transylvania, and Miami of Ohio. She was active in Kappa Kappa Gamma, The Lexington Junior League and Guignol Theater. She followed her interests in theater and media while residing in New York City where she was employed as a researcher by the Program Development Division of CBS-TV. Graveside services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at The Lexington Cemetery. Kerr Brothers Funeral Home – Harrodsburg Road is in charge of services.
