Papaw,
I visit your grave often. As selfish as it may sound, I find peace that you are close, so that I am able to visit often. I'm still working on that grass... come spring it will be looking good. I've got some new fall flowers in my truck and will bring them by tomorrow afternoon after work.
I miss you my Pappaw
I love you...

My Papaw was one of the greatest men I have ever known. He put his family first among all other things. I admire him in so many ways it’s almost impossible for me to describe in words. Not only did he take care of his family, he also served for his country in WWII “The Greatest Generation”

Papaw took Eric and I on many trips when we were young kids. We would go hiking up Natural Bridge many times over the years. While traveling up the mountain, he would point out to us how important it was to appreciate and respect nature. To this very day, every time I go walking in the woods, I always think of my Papaw.

He had so many good qualities about him, he was honest, very giving, unselfish, optimistic, and never said a negative word about anyone. What a great role model he was for me. Now since he has passed, I feel like there is an empty spot in my heart. All the memories I have of him will never be forgotten, and I will make sure all the things he taught me as a young man will be passed down to my kids.

I love you Papaw. When I get to Heaven, I cant wait for us to go hiking up Gods precious mountain in the sky.

Dearest Anita and Family,
I am deeply sorry to hear of your loss, however, rejoice that your father is united with our heavenly father. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time. While I never met Mr. Hatton, I can see how he touched so many lives in so many positive ways.

Papaw,
I'll never forget your eye-crinkling smiles and stories- you had such a way with words! I appreciate you taking the time to share your memories with me. I'm so thankful that I was able to spend time with you and Mamaw the last time I came to AZ, my only regret is that I didn't return sooner. May God be with Mamaw at this time, you were her partner in life and love.

Some of the best memories of my childhood were with My Papaw Hatton, he took me on vacation to Daytona Beach several times in the back of his Buick station wagon! I can remember him picking Julie, Rick and I up from my Mamaw Hamilton's in Irvine and taking us to Natural Bridge, just because he loved spending time with his grandkids. He loved to go to the spa and would take me along, I would sit at the juice bar with a fruit smoothie while he was in the sauna. I have precious memories of sitting on his lap as a little girl, eating melba toast and buttermilk, and the mornings he would prepare those famous poached eggs, those were happy times! I was fortunate to spend time with Papaw just a couple months ago in Sun City, I loved this man with all my heart, I will truly miss My Papaw Hatton.
