Eric Silver Obituary

Eric Christopher Silver
May 18, 1995 - February 22, 2022
Lexington, Kentucky - Eric Christopher Silver, 26, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022. Eric was born in Lexington, Kentucky on May 18, 1995. Eric grew up in Lexington and was a graduate of Henry Clay High School where he was an active member and percussionist in the marching band, making lasting friendships with his bandmates and other classmates. Eric and his friends shared a love of professional sports, and he was always eager to engage in a discussion about the latest NFL or NBA news and games. Eric loved animals, adopting a senior rescue cat and threatening often to add more to his herd. After high school, most knew Eric around town at any of the restaurants where he worked in front of house. Most recently he was working as part of the management staff at Zim's Café and The Thirsty Fox in downtown Lexington. If you've had a meal or a cold beverage in Lexington, chances are you've seen Eric's smiling face. Left to cherish his memory are his parents, James "Vince" and Dana (Collins) Silver; sister, Katie Silver (Richard Burchett); brother, Daniel Silver; grandmother, Dorothy Jones; grandfather, Ronald Collins; aunts Kim Silver and Laurie (Brian) Maudlin; uncles, Stephen Collins and Brian Maudlin; cousins, Ben Collins, Rachel Collins, and Lauren Maudlin, as well as many close friends he made over the years in Lexington. Eric was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jim Silver and his grandmother, Joyce Collins. Visitation for Eric will be Monday, February 28th from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Milward – Man O'War located at 1509 Trent Blvd. with service the following day, Tuesday, March 1st at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Lexington Cemetery. In honor of his legacy, please consider memorial contributions to your local animal rescue organization or Kentucky Organ Donation Affiliates. Eric was a great percussionist and friend, who helped make the Pit the best place in the band. I fondly remember the hard work he put into making the marching shows spectacular, and his contagious enthusiasm towards that goal. He brought a lot of laughter through his sense of humor, helping keep the mood light. Eric will truly be missed.
