Frederic Magruder Obituary
March 14, 1938 - March 13, 2024
Lexington, Kentucky - Frederic "Fred" Frank Magruder, 85, of Lexington passed away on March 13, 2024. He was born on March 14, 1938, in Meadville, PA, to the late Mr. L. Fred Magruder and Mrs. Keith Weaver Magruder. During Mr. Magruder's career, he worked as a Senior Product Technician for I.B.M, and after retiring, as Director of Operations for Elm Street Resources Inc. Fred was an avid Sports enthusiast. He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing, car racing, shooting pool, gardening, and country music. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Verna Euliano Magruder; his daughters, Debra Drosick, Kathy Walker (Butch), Cynthia Wemyss (John), and Sarah Lyle (Brian); twelve grandchildren and their families; and sister, Leslyn Barlow (Terry). Other than his parents, Fred is preceded in death by his brothers, Walter and Daniel Magruder; and his daughter, Susan Brashear (Steve). A 1PM funeral service will take place on Monday, March 18th, 2024, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home – Harrodsburg Road with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 11AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions are suggested to the Lexington Humane Society.

My sympathy is sent to his wonderful loving family. Have fond memories one of which is 4 kids (his brother, his new wife, myself and two of his brother´s babies on Route 66 headed to Arizona to strike it rich and make our mark on the world. We were in a 1956 Ford and an old $30 truck pulling a trailer. We lived together for a couple of months with many experiences until both boys went to work for very successful careers with with IBM. And they certainly did make their mark and raised 11 very successful children. My prayers are with you all and please Jesus rock Fred gently in your arms.
