Geneva Summers Obituary

SUMMERS Geneva, 90, widow of Horace Lee Summers, died Thu, Nov 13, 2008 at Sayre Christian Village. Born in Madison County, KY, she was the daughter of the late John M. and Dora Ward Burton. Mrs. Summers was a retired secretary for Eastern State Hospital, a Kentucky Colonel, and member of Parkway Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Dr. Ronald Wayne (Mary Lou) Summers, Ft. Thomas, KY and Robert Dale (Charlene) Summers, Clark County, KY; five grandchildren, Robert Summers, Kenneth Summers, Melissa Summers, Steve Summers and Jennifer Labanoski; four great-grandchildren, Dustin Summers, Tanner Summers, Shelby Summers and Trent Labanoski. She was preceded in death by one grandchild, Rebekah Weekly. Funeral services will be 12:30pm Mon, Nov 17 at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. by Dr. Ronald W. Summers. Private burial. Visitation will be 11:30am Mon until the time of the service. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Bob Brown House, 507 Rogers Rd., Lexington, KY 40505 or the Wood-Hudson Cancer Research, 391 Isabella St., Newport, KY 41071.

Ronnie & Bob,

I am so sorry to hear about Aunt Jean's passing....she was always so special to me. When Dad (Uncle Moss) died, she was my strength during that time. I will miss her deeply.

I AM SO SORRY TO READ ABOUT JEAN'S DEATH. I HAVE KNOWN HER FOR OVER 50 YEARS AND SHE WAS A DEAR SWEET PERSON. WE ATTENDED PARKWAY BAPTIST CHURCH WITH HER AND HORACE AND 2 SONS FOR MANY YEARS. MY CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY.
