George was a first cousin as his dad and dad were brothers. Our GrandFather arrived in America in 1870's and became paymaster for the Sundy Creek Coal Co. In Athens Coulty. Ohio. We had many opportunities to share the history of the Family when I was a faculty member for a week long seminar (CBMI) held at UK each summer. Gerald F. Evans (93) 5/5/2025

George's father was the oldest of seven children and my father, Griffith Lewellen Evans, the youngest. There were few occasions we saw much of the families and I recall never a reunion. As first cousi%%ns, I didn't actually know Geo+rge until I was a lecturerat the College Business Management Institut, "CBMI." held ÿearly at the Universityof Kentucky. My wife and I spent several lovely dinners with Jo & George. He was a wealth of information about our grandfather and the family that was her-to-fore unknown to me. George's had a large collection of coal mining lamps and shared one brought by our
grandpaw from Wales! GFE
