I graduated from Lafayette HS with Karen in'68. We were friends, had many classes together and lived in the same neighborhood. We reconnected some years later when she worked briefly at the UK Hospital when I was an intern. We saw each other off and on over the years, most recently at out 50th HS reunion. She was always friendly, acted thrilled to see you, fun to talk with and someone who will be greatly missed.

I loved this women she was one of the kindness souls I ever knew. Anyone who ever came in contact with her became changed by the way she lived her life . She was strong willed and strong hearted. I was so inspired everyday I was in her presents .

I had the privilege of serving on the West Jessamine High School faculty with Hallie. She was a master teacher who impacted thousands she came in contact with. I consider it an honor to have known her- a true class act and a wonderful lady. Thank You Hallie!

Hello and what a great pal "Brink" was to me. I met her in 1970 when I was in Lexington on a church trip across the country. Brink took me under her wing,
and I had been thinking about her these last few years trying to find her, and alas, I did, only too late. What a great person she was, and fun, and such a joy to hang out with. After the trip I went home to Pennsylvania and we kept in touch by mail for a few years, but . . .well you know how life takes its course, and I'm thankful I was in her orbit for that one short summer....Sincerely
Doreen (Kirban) Frick

She was one of a kind. Truly a generous and kind person with a razor sharp wit. The world is a quieter and sadder place without you my dear friend.

You will be missed my friend! Wonderful memories of drama and talent show with you, trip to Florida our senior year, and dancing with you at our 50th year reunion from Lafayette. RIP!

I lost touch with `Brink´ as I called her for years after I moved from Lexington and hadn´t been able to find her. I will and do cherrish the memories we made together at church, going to diners, dances, prom, and our sports cars, sitting in her mom and dad´s home talking. Confided in Karen quite a bit before we lost touch but such a sweet sweet caring individual whom I am most privileged to have had the pleasure to have known. Rest easy and pain free Karen in the loving arms of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. I will see you again one day.

Ms Brinkerhoff was one of my all time favorite teachers. I had her for drama my junior year of high school and I learned so much. The things that she taught me helped in much of my professional life. She was one that made school fun. I am glad that I got a chance to know her and she will always be a teacher that I will reminisce about. She touched so many souls and the world is bleaker without her. My thoughts go out to the family as I know this is a tough time for them.

Karen and my brother Irish always had such a great time together. Both attending Lafayette at the same time as well as doing the plays that Lafayette put on was such a happy time for my brother.
