Our mom's birthday was September 30th and that was a very hard day to handle - 1st time in my life that I have not got to talk to her on her birthday.....very hard still and not a day goes by that I don't think about her and the love I felt for her. I truly believe she is dancing with the angels beside God.

Mom,
I will miss you every day. Thank you for giving me life, love and the respect of others. Hopefully, I will be able to teach the same to my children. In the end, you raised five wonderful children who are better for everything you were able to do for us.
I know in the end we will all meet again in heaven.
I love you,
Kenny

When Dad began working at Southern Bell Telephone Co. they would moved with promotions. 1968 Mayfield, KY, Lou became socially involved playing Bridge and Bunko. We kids loved these times; we would get extra snacks before bedtime. Lou love to dance, she always got some of their many friends to join them dancing including the Lowry’s & Bruce’s. Great times spent with friends & families at cabins on Reel Foot Lake, TN, Lake Barkley, KY Lake & Land between the Lakes. Mom would take her kids out in the water even though she never learned to swim, she made sure we did. Lou lived for her kids; she loved the life of mom, wife and friend. 1971 Clarksville, IN, sports & cheerleading. 1975 Prospect, KY, A beautiful rural part of Oldham County. Swim club & sports. Summer 1977, transfer landed us in Winchester, KY. We lived at the Holiday Inn for a month. Fun for the kids but mom was happy when they found a home. 1979 she and dad divorced. Lou began Beauty School, under friend Nedra Gabbard. Graduating she opened WORLD of BEAUTY HAIR SALON. 1981 she married Carl Potter. Moved to Lexington, Clay City, Beattyville, & Bryantsville, KY started CARLOS Pizza, known for their homemade pizza dough – she made the best breadsticks! Sold the business, settled in house on Herrington Lake. She loved the serenity and beauty of the water. She started gardening & boating. Mom took to a cat and named it Bear :) even though we grew up with dogs. Granny gave Whitney and Ryan 2 of Bear’s kittens they still have. Lou was talented; built 100 steps to the lake, refurbish homes, and in 2000 Rodgersville TN. Her home looked like a florist shop landscape. She enjoyed this home close to the lake. She loved to take her grandchildren tubing & skiing and did it often. Remember mom never learned to swim but she did learn to wear a life jacket. She loved the water. Mom divorced Carl, moved back to Loyall, KY. Lou and Walter rebuilt their friendship; Dad attended her funeral 1 day out of hospital with a fractured hip. Their love and respect still remained. All of Lou’s children played a part in taking care of her. She was surrounded by family and friends in her final days and Walter Jr with her as she passed. At her visitation and funeral, her daughter Dejuan read a poem "All is well, I am with God" and granddaughter Whitney sang "Bubbly" then sang "Lord take my hand" at the graveside service. Again, she was surrounded by beautiful flowers, family and friends. Even though we will miss mom terribly, we know she is in a better place with God, no more pain or suffering, for that we are forever grateful. God Bless you Mom.
