James Ferguson Obituary

MILLERSBURG - James William Ferguson, 50, 10th Street, retired Millersburg Waste Water Treatment Plant Superintendent, husband of Ruth Friedly Ferguson, died Mon., Apr. 17, 2006 at the Hospice Care Center. He was born Mar. 31, 1956 in Paris, son of the late Matthew Hume Payne and Agnes "Tillie" Maner Ferguson, Sr. Jim was a graduate of Bourbon County High School, a charter member and organizer of United Trappers of Kentucky, a professional trapper, avid sportsman and outdoorsman who was a long time member of various gun clubs, and was a member of Central Baptist Church. He is also survived by 2 stepsons, Jeffrey R. (Kathy) Crump, Georgetown, Richard Austin Lee, Millersburg; a grandson, Taylor James Crump, Georgetown; 2 brothers, Matthew Hume Payne Ferguson, Jr., Clark County, Eugene Maner (Sherry) Ferguson, Sr., Lexington; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1 pm, Fri., Apr. 21, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Dan Russell with interment in the Paris Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Robby Hoover, J.D. Turner, Brad Ferguson, Gene Ferguson, Chet Hayes, Gary Osborne, Charles Harper, and Dennis Buckler. Honorary bearers will be Bobby Lucky, Oral Jones, Randy Hedges, Herb Booth, Rose Sears, and Ignatius Koury. Visitation will be 5-8 pm, Thurs. Memorial contributions are suggested to the James W. Ferguson Scholarship Fund for high school seniors interested in the study of fish and wildlife administered through the United Trappers of Kentucky.
