Janet Deniston Streetman Obituary

Janet Deniston Streetman
June 26, 1950 - February 18, 2023
Lexington , Kentucky - Janet Deniston Streetman passed away on Saturday, February 18th, 2023 in Lexington, KY. She was born in Sardina, Indiana to John Henry and Dorothy L. Deniston, brother John Thomas Deniston who all preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Jade Cook and husband Shaun; son Johnathan Streetman and wife Darcy; granddaughters, Caroline Elizabeth, Audrey June and Cora Jane Cook and grandsons Samuel Henry and Benjamin Thomas Streetman. They all reside in Lexington, Kentucky.
Janet graduated from Ball State University in 1972 with a Bachelors in Science. She moved to Lexington in 1973 and resided here for the next 50 years. In the early 80's, Janet quickly realized she wanted to be a part of Lexington's commercial growth. She worked for the Webb Companies, Gov. John Y. Brown, Paragon Group, Insignia Commercial Group and then helped establish Coleman Group in 1997. She excelled in her position as a Property Manager. She had a reputation for being tough but fair, always connecting and getting to know her tenants and tradesmen. She retired from Coleman Group in February of 2020.
Janet always understood the value of hard work and putting family first. After she retired, she devoted her life to two things. Taking care of the Deniston Family Farm and spending time with her kids and 5 grandkids. She leaves this world having fought the good fight to the very end with her family by her side. Her presence will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
Funeral Services will be Friday, February 24th from 11-1pm for visitation, service at 1pm at Milward Funeral Directors on Southland Drive in Lexington, KY. She will be laid to rest in Westport, IN next to her parents and brother. A graveside service for Indiana friends will be Saturday, Feb. 25th at Westport Cemetery.

I had the Distinct Pleasure of meeting and getting to know Janet at Ball State when I was in Graduate School. I have spent most of my life as a 'Therapist' working with all levels of care...I can honestly attest that Janet, was one of the Kindest, most 'Well Balanced', humorous Individual, who I have ever met.. I was recently looking through Alumni, and Sadly discovered ,that Janet had passed.
And for that, I send my Very Deepest Heart felt
Condolence to her Fine Family. May GOD always be with you, ALL.

Our company was one of her tenants and it was great pleasure to know Janet. She did a great job and was always kind and friendly. She was very proud of her grandchildren. I was very sad when she retired but am glad she had a few years to enjoy herself. God speed Janet.
