Jerry Hayes and I were born a month apart. He and his twin brother Johnny grew up with me across the street on Haiti Road in Berea, KY. We were close friends and played together for days and days until the family moved away from our street. We went to different schools and our friendship faded. I regret that, and I am saddened to read of Jerry's death. Our paths which crossed as children evoke a fond memory that will be with me the rest of my life. Rest in peace old friend. I remember you and Johnny, your father and your mother well.
I send my condolences to his widow.
