Veteran's Friend

August 21, 2015

I didn't know Mr. Beazley really, just through my grandfather Robert Cooper, they both had shared Army service and both received the French Legion of Honour, I only met him at the ceremony, he seemed a nice and quiet man, like my grandfather. Both of their voices are gone now, but I'll never forget what they did for us, as my grandfather said "Just what I had to do, I'm not a hero" those are the words Heroes say, heroes like Mr. Beazley and my grandfather. 'May your soul be in Heaven a half-hour before the Devil knows you're dead.'

I'll miss him but his voice will be heard above much of World War Two that once seemed more important.
