I spent my elementary, junior and senior years having sleep overs/day overs with Robin and all the sisters. WOW did we have some good times. Mary Ann always had the icebox full of delicious food for us to eat or maybe not supposed to eat. She was very patient with all our antics and Mr. Davis was always up for a good laugh or joke.
We got to swim at the Lansdowne Club, of course we snuck in after hours. Sock Hops, we self served at the upstairs bar with cherry cokes and ate Charlie chips right out of the large can. We thought we were in heaven. The Davis family was and is very generous in our community; The Bash for cardinal hill and so many other charitable events.
They were never a pretentious family, Davis drove an old staton wagon and Mary Ann like convertibles. Mr. Davis was a kind man he never forgot to give all his family a big Valentine gift and card; they all appreciate it, I thought it was lovely. This were childhood good memories so many more..

I may have known J.W. longer than anyone living today. Together, we were in the Cradle Roll and, then, Sunday School, at the old Immanuel Baptist Church, that stood on the corner of East High St, and Woodland Avenue. As neighbors in Ashland Park, we played together as we grew up. The vacant lot, across the street from his home on Sycamore Road, was our sandlot- football field. Then, before and after the war, we were schoolmates at U.K.

I extend my condolences to Mary Ann and their family. And,J.W., rest peace-
fully, my friend. I hope that we meet up again some day.
