John Leinenbach Obituary
May 19, 1940 - February 3, 2022
Lexington, Kentucky - John Leinenbach, 81, of Lexington, Kentucky, peacefully passed away on 2/3/2022.
Born in Portsmouth, Virginia to Catherine and Myron Leinenbach, John was a fun- loving boy who enjoyed baseball and football. John graduated from Old Dominion with a degree in Economics, and then completed his education with an MBA from Xavier in Cincinnati, Ohio.
John used his business acumen to pursue a career in safety in Highways, Coal Mining, and Building Construction. His passion continued with a role in safety management at Congleton-Hacker for more than 20 years. Not content with just his primary job, John contributed his knowledge, skill, and morals as a member and chairman of a number of state district council funds in Labor and Carpenter Apprenticeship in the state of Kentucky. His passion for education for both our youth and working professionals manifested in his pivotal help in creating a Safety and Training Center for Labor for the state of Kentucky and in his assistance in forming a Construction Management degree at the University of Kentucky.
John was also a kind and loving husband and father. He had a profound love for books and loved spending time at the area libraries, and especially reading in the fields of finance and law. He also enjoyed traveling and a good walk in nature.
John leaves behind his wife Carol and his son Kurt, his son Keith (and his wife Julie), and a granddaughter Sierra. Visitation services will be held at Milward on Southland Drive at 11AM and then the funeral will be at Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary at 1 PM on Friday February 11.

I´m so sorry for your loss. I always enjoyed seeing him. So kind and interesting. His stories and with advice from where to go in NOLA to help with healthcare plans. My condolences for Carol and his family. My minds eye will always picture John with Carol happily square dancing.
