John was a wonderful man. I went to his visitation today and told his son that few people in the world have the ability to touch as many lives, including my own, as Dr. Rowlett did. He lived a great life and is an example for all of us.

I was a student of John Rowlett when he taught in the Department of Industrial Arts at Eastern in the early 1960's. He was always supportive and positive and you felt good about being in his classes. I'll always remember him first as being a great teacher.

It was an honor and a pleasure to serve under the Dean of Faculties leadership of John Rowlett for my 21 year tenure in the EKU College of Business Faculty as KREC Chairholder of Real Estate Studies. He was a great leader for the University and the Commonwealth.

I are so sorry to hear of John's death. I shall always remember him as a fair and honorable person who felt deeply about his family and his university. It was my priviledge to know him in several roles at the university and I always remember him making excellent contributions whereever he served. He will be missed.
