Julia Ashcraft

NICHOLASVILLE - Julia Elizabeth Epperson Ashcraft, 79, died on Thursday, Nov 15, at her home after courageously enduring cancer. She was the widow of James C. Ashcraft who died in 2007. A native of Stanton, KY she was born Nov. 17, 1932, to the late Minter and Clemma Napier Epperson. Julia was a retired employee of GTE where during her 23 years she worked in many different capacities ending her career in Inventory Control. She was an avid UK Basketball fan, a Lioness, and Kentucky Colonel. When asked she always said her greatest accomplishment was her 3 sons. She is survived by Jerry Prewitt, Nancy Parvin, Ted Prewitt wife Laura, and Arnold Prewitt, wife Janet, 10 grandchildren Timmy Prewitt, wife Lyndsay, Julie Prewitt, fianc‚ Brandon Dotson, Madison Prewitt, Will Prewitt, Carter Prewitt, Caroline Prewitt, J.T. Prewitt, Justin Prewitt, wife Brittany, Clay and Austin Cunliffe, 2 great grandchildren Jamison Tyler Prewitt and Colton Michael Dotson, sisters Opal Pickett, husband Jerry, Phyllis Rogers, Rita Mays, husband Bobby, Donnie Mundell, husband Jerry, Brucie Carpenter, husband Keith, brothers Kendall Epperson, wife Janice, and Larry Epperson, wife Kay along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son Fenton Prewitt. A Service of Remembrance will be at 1pm on Monday, Nov. 19, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Sholar and Rev. Brad Epperson officiating, entombment will be at Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Honoring her as pallbearers will be Quinn Carpenter, Wendell McCoy, Earl McCoy, Ken Epperson, Jerry Lee Pickett, and John Branscum. Her grandchildren will be Honorary Bearers.
