I am just now finding out about Julie´s passing. I first met her at Jessie Clark Jr. High School in Lexington. I wound up moving to Frankfort my first year of high school and going to Western Hills. Walking down the hallway and not knowing a soul, I was so happy to see Julie´s smiling face. Admittedly we weren´t close friends, but it was very comforting to see her and get to speak with her occasionally. It took away some of the stress of my move and the first year of high school. Julie was so kind and always smiling when she greeted people. I also remember what an amazing basketball player she was at both schools.
I am shocked and saddened to learn of her passing and that I´m just finding out about it now. I hope her family has had some time to heal and that they know what a wonderful person she was.

Julie and I were childhood friends in Lexington. We were literally next door neighbors. She was my best friend during that time. We spent many many hours playing basketball in our driveways. She would even come with me and my family to our farm in Owen county for weekends. I moved away during 6th grade to Owen county and Julie and I drifted apart. I would see her mother periodically and get updates on Julie. I was going to hook back up with her and catch up on just life in general. Then her mother told me she had passed. My heart was broken. Not only for her loss and for her family, but to not ever get the chance to talk with her and catch up on everything. Julie, you will forever be in my heart and I have never forgot you.

I was so sad to hear about Julies death! What a wonderful and kind human being she was. I was so fortunate to be the nanny for Mac and Sam when they were very small. I have beautiful and warm memories of the entire family.

Unlike many remembrances of Julie, I knew Julie when she was in high school. She was a light unlike others even then. We did not stay connected after high school but I have thought about her often throughout the years. Reading the postings about her life; attending the celebration of her life at the church; briefly talking to her mother; listening to her children participate in the ceremony has been inspiring. Julie had an awesome life with wonderful people around her. I wish that we had remained connected. I wish that I had a chance to know Julie as an adult. I will be a better person because of this experience. You are all in my thoughts. Peace.

Julie had so many talents, all of which I admired and envied. She was always the teacher, the encourager with her sweet manner and peaceful soul. We went on many a long bike ride, and shared many conversations by the pool while you little ones played. She never judged and helped us see things about ourselves we never knew possible. she loved her family with a passion, and her friends as well. I will love and miss her forever.

Julie was an enigma, a paradox, a mysterious being on loan to us for a while. She came loaded with love and light, curiosity and conversation, meaning and joy and so much more. She added to my life immeasurably, and I'll treasure her memory always.

I enjoyed Julie's company on Monday nights at Cornbread Supper. Every one anticipated Julie's culinary talents. I always looked forward to our conversations. She encouraged me to start bike riding again this summer. A kind person. My life is enriched by knowing Julie.

Mack & Sam,
What I remember most about the fun times I shared with your Mom was that she felt so lucky, and Proud to be your Mom. The Love showed on her face, and her smile everytime she spoke of you.
Memories of her bright smile, kindness, warmth, and love will live on in all who knew her.

To Julie's family, whom I have not yet met: I have known Julie for four years, during which she added so much light, beauty, and interest to my life. I particularly loved her way of seeming to find the world just slightly amusing, a tiny smile ready to break into a laugh in any conversation. We loved to talk about cooking. Her memory will now join me in the kitchen, where thoughts and learnings from other beloved cooks keep me excellent company.

It's with such sadness I read about Julie. I didn't know her well but what I did know was a sweet, kind person who was devoted to her sons. Thinking and praying for all who loved Julie.
