Kelley Deaton Obituary

DANVILLE -Dr. Kelley Deaton, Jr., 83, of Danville, passed away Saturday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. He was born on January 26, 1934 in Hazard, Kentucky to the late Kelley Sr. and Ethel Draughn Deaton. Dr. Deaton is survived by his wife, Doris Tumey Deaton. Dr. Deaton graduated from Centre College and University of Louisville School of Dentistry. He opened his practice in Danville in 1959. Dr. Deaton was a member of the Danville-Boyle County Board of Health and a longtime member of the Centenary United Methodist Church. Also surviving are two sons, Dr. Corky Deaton of Danville and Daniel Reid Deaton (Lisa) of Lexington; and five grandchildren: Nathaniel Deaton, Tyler Dorsey (Kyle), Alexandra Deaton, William Deaton, and Benjamin Deaton. A gathering for family and friends will be held at Centenary United Methodist Church on Thursday, December 21, 2017 from 12PM-2PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are preferred to Centre College Tennis Program and Centenary United Methodist Building Fund. www.prestonpruitt.com
