Lester Brown Obituary

Lester L. Brown, 69, 594 Halifax Dr., husband of Faye Heflin Brown, to whom she was married forty-seven years, and retired advertising services employee of Ashland Oil of thirty-nine years, died Thursday January 9, 2003 at Central Baptist Hospital. He was born May 21, 1933 in Ashland and son of Ora Salyers Brown, Ashland and the late Virgil Brown. Mr. Brown was a member of Gardenside Baptist Church and an Army veteran. Other survivors include, two daughters, Cheryl (Dan) Lesher and Keri (Brian) Monroe both of Lexington; a brother, Larry Joe Brown, Ashland; and four grandchildren, Aaron Lesher, Caitlin Lesher, Cristin Lesher and Zach Monroe, all of Lexington. Services 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Gardenside Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Ron Fellemende and Brother Brian Monroe, with burial in Lexington Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Mitch Glenn, David Humlong, Doug Mitchell, Rodney Parsons, Rick Sapp, Richard Strange, Nathan Watson and Greg White. Honorary bearers are John Ward, Samuel Darkomensah Don White's Sunday School Class and golf buddies, Tom Allen, Kenneth Ginter, Lewis Leach, Ron Sallee, and all other church friends and loved ones. Friends may call 5-9 p.m. Monday at W.R. Milward Mortuary-Southland. Memorial contributions may directed to the Gardenside Baptist Church, "Passion Play" or roof repairs, 1667 Alexandria Dr., Lexington, 40504. We use to be members of Gardenside Baptist and will always remember Les greeting us each time we would go to church. He truly was a wonderful christain and left a great heritage for his family. God Bless his family.We will always cherish memories of this wonderful man.
