Louis-Georges Dupont Obituary

Louis-Georges (George) Dupont
April 18, 1929 - September 10, 2021
Lexington, Kentucky - On Friday, September 10, 2021, Louis-Georges (George) Dupont, loving husband and father of five children passed away at the age of 92. George was born on April 18, 1929 in Saint Pamphile, Quebec, Canada. He was French Canadian and worked on the family farm before working as a lumber jack in northern Quebec. At 18, he went to Toronto to join the construction trade, where he met his future wife, Julia G. Dalton, who was from Edinburgh, Scotland. George came to Lexington, Kentucky, when it was a small town in 1957, and they married shortly thereafter. They left their families, homes and everything they knew to give their children a better life and were married for over 54 years. Starting his own home building and remodeling company, they raised five children, Bernadette Dupont, Annette DuPont-Ewing (Tony), Diane Newcomb (Patrick), Michael Dupont (Shelly), and Louise Dupont. George left his mark on Lexington's landscape by building and remodeling many homes and helping to construct several of the city's landmarks like the Oleika Shriner's Temple, Parkette Drive-In, and Southland Bowling Lanes. George was a man of great integrity, and known for his quick wit, his kind and gentle spirit, and his words of wisdom which continue to mold and shape his family's lives. He leaves a legacy of much love and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
George is preceded in death by his wife Julia, his parents Clara Giasson and Charles-Emile Dupont, his brothers Paul-Emile and Andre and his sisters, Rose-Marie Saint-Amant (Pierre), Lucille Blanchet (Michel), Clemence Dupont, Edith Morneau (Edmond), Aline Morin (Denis), Simone Lariviere (Georges), Emma McLeod (Gordon). He is survived by his brothers Marcel Dupont and Francois Dupont (Rita). He loved his nine grandchildren, Jessica Dupont, Austin Dupont, Kristin Dupont, Alexis Lane, Whitney Dupont, Zachary Newcomb, Julianne Ewing, Alana Newcomb, and Phillip Ewing.
A visitation, Rosary, and funeral will be held at Christ the King Cathedral, 299 Colony Boulevard, Lexington, Kentucky. My deepest sympathy to Annette, Louise and the DuPont family. I worked with your sweet mom Julia too. I never met your father "George" however Julia mentioned him often. Lexington was graced with your family at Canada´s loss.
