Louise Dunaway Obituary

BEATTYVILLE - Mrs. Louise Dunaway was born in Irvine, Kentucky, on December 9, 1935 to Willard and Sarilda Brewer. Louise attended Lee County High School and graduated in 1953. In 1957 she graduated from Good Samaritan School of Nursing in Lexington, KY. She and Heber Dunaway were married that same year. Louise worked as a nurse at Berea Hospital, Patti A Clay Hospital, and the Hazard Miners Memorial Hospital before moving with her husband, Heber, to Lee County. She worked for 12 years as a Public Health Nurse in Lee, Wolfe, and Owsley counties. She worked for several years for Dr. John Smith in his private practice before becoming the Director of Nursing at Lee County Constant Care in 1988. Louise retired in 1998 after touching many lives during her 40 year nursing career. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Heber Dunaway; two daughters, Cheri (Bruce) Murrey of Beattyville and Joy (John) Zincone of Colorado Springs; six grandchildren, Shauna Murrey of Irvine, Sawyer Zincone of Alamosa, CO, Kelley and Dylan Zincone of Colorado Springs, CO, Megan Murrey and Emily (Ian) McHone of Lexington, KY; one sister, Yvonne (Bob) Shelley of Asheville, NC and a sister-in-law, Barbara Sherrow of Beattyville; three nieces, Dana Brown, Jana (Mark) King, and Heather (Brayden) McIntyre. Funeral Services will be 11am Sat, June 22 at the Zoe First Church of God, Zoe, KY. Visitation will be Fri, June 21 from 6-9pm at the Newnam Funeral Home, Beattyville, KY. Burial will follow the services Sat. Donations to Zoe First Church of God or Ida May Bible Church. www.newnamfuneralhome.com
