LuAnne Simpson Obituary

SIMPSON LuAnne Tackett, age 67, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Lawrenceville, GA from an extended battle with cancer. LuAnne, lived in Metro Atlanta over half of her life. She was born in Georgetown KY. Educated at Lafayette High School, Lexington, KY Her classmates knew her as "Tackett". She also was in the very first graduating 1967 Tates Creek High School class, Lexington, KY. She received her MFA in Art from Georgia State University, Atlanta, GA. She is survived by her husband Richard Ronald Simpson, three children, Monica, Todd and Scott. One Brother, Mark Tackett, two Sisters, Elaine Stephens, and Cindy Pate. LuAnne created beautiful ceramic sculptures and paintings for many years, which will be treasured in her memory forever more. She was a dedicated Christian, loving God and family with all of her heart. LuAnne Tackett Simpson was her husband's best friend for over 48 years, a wonderful devoted wife and loving mother. She had many friends. No one was a stranger because she loved people and loved life. She will be missed dearly by all. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday March 26, 2016, starting at 3pm with family and friends at LuAnne's home, 1251 Chadwick Lake Dr., Lawrenceville, GA. 30043.
