Mark Baker Obituary

BAKER Mark, was born on November 3, 1958 and passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2018. Mark was a life-long resident of Lexington, Kentucky. Mark was preceded in death by his parents Donald C. and Anna E. Baker and an infant brother Matthew E. Baker. He is survived by three sons and two step daughters, Matthew (Amanda), James (Vanessa), Clint (Edith), Angie and Tara, and two sisters Linda and Donna. He also had two brothers-in-law he loved as brothers, Butch Payne and Wes Ritchie. In addition to children and siblings he had 14 gandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Mark enjoyed quiet afternoons on the porch visiting friends and family, gardening, making Twinkie (cloud) cakes, and his 4 cats, Squirt (Baby Girl), Lucky, Boogie and Scraper. Mark was one of the most humble and content souls on earth. He was selfless and cared deeply for others. He was tender and sweet and loved so many. He will be missed greatly, but with confidence we know his struggles here are over and he has entered his eternal home. A memorial service officiated by Pastor Butch Payne will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 7 at 1859 Old Paris Road Church of God. Visitation will begin at 1:00 prior to the service.

Mark, you were like a dad to me for a very long time. You treated Tara and I just like your own kids and we will never forget that. From watching the Bengals in the living room, to going bowling every week, to you loving to dress up for Halloween every year but especially you walking me down the aisle at my wedding to Brian... those are just some of the memories that I made with you and that I will cherish forever and always. Love and miss you "Daddy Mark" Fly High ❤

Deepest condolences to all who knew and loved Mark, especially Linda, Donna and his children and their families. Mark was a very special person, as well as a loving cousin and he will be missed. Heaven has surely gained another spectacular angel. We will grieve the loss of you here on Earth, but are comforted in knowing you are at peace and now with your Mom and Dad and all those who have passed before you. I have so many wonderful childhood memories of summers visiting our Baker family in KY (and getting into good-hearted mischief many times - with Mark as our ring leader)! Until we see each other again, Mark will remain in our thoughts and always in our hearts. God Bless XO

MARK was a great person who touched so many during his life. We grew up together, went to schools together and had many of the same friends even into adult years. We went to the Sadie Hawkins dance together in middle school.
I think he was so happy to be my date for that. Boy did we have fun. So many of us remained friends and "hung" out together even in high school.
He was an adorable soul. Never harsh, always enjoying life.
His love for God, family and friends was always apparent.
You will never be forgotten my friend.
I know you will be watching over many friends and family. GOD bless you my friend!!
To Peggy and all the family, God bless and watch over all of you. May all find Peace and continue to be blessed.

I will miss our times together. Mark was the best brother I could have ever had. The times we spent together will be cherished. He taught me to enjoy golf and Nascar, we watched TV together or apart texting about what was going on in various shows. I will miss taking small trips and vacations with him. He is on the ultimate journey now, there is no longer any pain of suffering (for that I am grateful), but for selfish reasons I wish he was here! Mark has found his permanent home and is rejoicing. Praise God! I must tell him goodbye for now, but we will meet again! Love, Donna
