Martin was one of the first people I met at Kroger and was one of the kindest people I have ever met in my life. He had a great since of humor and loved to talk about high school band with me. I loved bagging for him when he was cashiering because he liked to go fast and I could keep up with him. When I was out of town for school he would tell my mom to say hi to us for him. I am going to miss talking to him and listening to him tell me about the latest UK game.

Martin was one of my favorite grocery clerks. We always had a chat when I went through the line. He was a dear man, and I'm going to miss him. My condolences to his family.

We took care of Martin's car for years. He will be missed. Loved talking UK ball with him when he came in for maintenance.

I cannot count the times that I have went through Martin's line at Kroger in Beaumont over the 13 years I have lived in that area and the many short conversations that we had, but enough for him to have touched my life. I am so saddened by this news and the loss of this wonderful man. You go through life and you see people like Martin, who you really don't know, then something tragic like this happens and suddenly the man who has checked out your groceries for years, is a Choir singer, has lived in England, loved to travel and it was always quite obvious who he rooted for in sports, the one thing I knew about him. He was one of those cashiers whose line you wanted to go to even if it was long. I will so miss seeing his smiling face and our short conversations. My condolences to his family and friends.
