Mary P. Gorman

HAZARD - Mary P. Gorman, who lived at Wesley Village, Wilmore, KY went to be with the Lord on Oct 25, 2011. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was born on May 1, 1925 in Rogersville, TN. After her marriage, she lived in Hazard, KY where she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. There she taught Sunday School for over 25 years and was a member of the church choir. She was also involved in the women's work of the church. She was Troop leader of the Brownie Scouts for several years. After moving to Lexington, 23 years ago, she was an active member of the Tates Creek Presbyterian Church and the church choir. She attended Brenau College in Gainsville, GA where she was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She was a member of the Lexington Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Griffin Gate Garden Club, where she served on the board for 16 years. She also served on the board of the Griffin Gate Community Association. Surviving her is her loving family, one son, Bill Gorman and his wife, Missy of Hazard and Lexington, KY; a daughter, Suzanne Gorman of Yalaha, FL; two granddaughters, Casey Gorman Bowers and Haley Gorman Clark (James), both of Lexington, KY; and two great-granddaughters, Alexandra Clark and Catherine Clark. A family graveside service will be held in Rogersville, TN on Sat, Oct 29, 2011.
