To the Byarlay family, the Hill family extends their sincerest condolences and prayers.
I have fond memories of Matthew growing up as a child at St. Leo's and in the Woodford County Schools as a fellow student-athlete. He was a great example of a kind gentleman. He will always be remembered as a beautiful and exceptional person.
May his memory be a blessing.

I'm so sorry to hear about Matt's passing. I have fond memories of Matt from Owen. We took a trip to Costa Rica with Drew Herzog, and I caught a U2 concert with him in Foxboro. He spoke very fondly of Cathy and his family. This is a difficult loss. God bless his family.

Avondale Partners
March 4, 2016
At Avondale Partners we have lost our colleague, our partner, our friend. Matt has been an integral part of Avondale since our earliest days. To say that he will be missed does an injustice to the magnitude of the void he leaves at Avondale. All of us who worked closely with Matt know that he was a professional in every sense of the word. Matt covered a number of territories and accounts over the years, both at Avondale and elsewhere before. Wherever Matt had responsibility he would improve on conditions as he found them at the outset. Matt built strong relationship and did a wonderful job enhancing Avondale's brand and reputation. He leaves us big shoes to fill. From this day forward we will all miss his daily 8:29 a.m. call "Gentlemen, place your bets."
Matt and his family are in your prayers.

My deepest sympathies. Matt was a colleague in the industry for years in the early-mid 2000s and was in a class of his own. He was the most genuine person I've ever met. For years since and to this very day, I have referenced, on literally dozens of occasions, Matt's words to me one time; that life is about enjoying and seeking memorable experiences, not material accumulation. He has had a profound effect on my outlook in life, that which I have already begun to pass along to my own children. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Our prayers are with your entire family & all of Matt's friends, past & present. I remember Matt's infectious smile from long ago while attending our small, Catholic Jr. High class (of 10 kids) at St. Leo's Catholic School in Versailles, KY. Also as a classmate with him at Woodford County High School I remember him in class as well as at church when he would attend celebrated mass at St. Leo Catholic Church on Sundays and seeing Matt with his mom & dad-Lavonne & Starr, and his siblings. Matt will be missed by so many. Out of sight but always in our hearts. Prayers are being offered to Almighty God for His ever-present mercy, peace, and unconditional love of your entire family. All of you, and the repose of Matt's soul, will be remembered in my daily prayers. "Eternal rest grant unto him O'Lord-and let Perpetual Light shine upon him."

Matt was so generous and it was always obvious how much he loved his family. He was a great neighbor and always had a smile when we saw him. My 8 year old daughter remarked on how well he "took care of the yard because he loved the earth and plants." We are so sorry for the pain of your loss but know that the love you shared will carry and sustain you until you are together again. You are such a beautiful family. God bless you, we love you all!

Remembering Matt: He was a special friend to my son, Boo Kemper. Remember him as a leader in his class and an outstanding student...such a wonderful influence on all who knew him. The world will be less special without him and there will be a hole in our hearts. May God surround his family with loving arms for now and ever more.

We were fortunate to be Matt's neighbors for 11 years on Skyline Drive. Matt was a pleasure to be with because he was genuinely friendly. It was great to see him anytime, but especially at the Skyline 4th of July celebrations and Christmas party. We will miss him a lot.
