I did not know Michael in a personal way but I did meet him last year when I came to your home to perform and assessment for the Center for Accessible living. He was the neatest guy and I asked him if he would ever be interested to share his story with the OT students at Spalding University where I work. The first thing he asked was if there were any cute girls...he cracked me up. What a great guy. We also shared another love too...I was so excited when I was able to see his English Bulldog...Jewel I believe was her name...I, too, have had EB's and we spoke sometime about them. He was such an AMAZING individual. I enjoyed the short amount of time I was with him...enough for him to have blessed me with his story.
God is certainly holding your family right now.

Linda,
I was stunned when I learned of Michael's death on Tuesday morning. I really didn't beleive it was true. I was so sorry I couldn't be at any of the services, but I had surgery on Wednesday morning and this is the first time I could make contact. My heart goes out to you and Michael's brother. I was fortunate to get to know Michael and his tremendous spirit. May that strength you have always shown, continue to serve you and may God continue to support and uplift you. You have my prayers and thoughts.

I just found out about Michael's death. He was a very kind man and I enjoyed our banter over UK-UofL sports during my care of him. He will be missed. Prayers go out to the family.

Although I did not know Michael personally, his story and the success of Friends for Michael has inspired and encouraged my family and so many more. Our 11 year old son is wheelchair-bound and I pray that he grows up to be as independent and wonderful as Mike Brent!
Our thoughts and prayers are with the immediate family and the entire Friends for Michael family as well.

Michael was such a sweet, fun-loving guy. He helped inspire and motivate me following a similar wreck I was in. So many here at UK, myself inluded, have memories of him sun-bathing on campus and always proudly wearing his beautiful smile. I'm so glad that I got to know Michael, as he will always have a place in my heart. My thougts and prayers go out to all his family. Michael is already sorely missed, but he will always be fondly remembered. xoxo

Frank, Linda, and Matthew, Michael has touched many lives after his accident. He moved forward with his life and has shown that even with a disability you can still be a success. One thing you can hold on to, is that when it is your time to cross over to the next life, that Michael will be standing there waiting for you. May God give you the strength to get you through until you see Michael again. Thinking of all of you,
