Minnie King Obituary

WINCHESTER - Minnie Alice Hatton King, widow of Charles King lived and shone on God's earth for 95 years, 11 months and one day. She was born in Bath County to John W. and Lellie Jones Hatton on October 5, 1917 and left for her heavenly home September 6, 2013, leaving behind to cherish her memory four children: Doris King Shepherd, Paul King, Doug (Mary) King and Judy (Jerry) Riddell, grandchildren: Vince (Monica) King, Chris (Sherrie) King, Doug (Kristin) King, Deanna (Jack) Merideth and Leslie Kay King; great grandchildren: Colby, Clay, Courtney, Riley, Aubrey and Casey Joe King. One surviving sister, Eula V. Witt and sister-in-laws: Mary, Irene, Gertrude and Lillian Hatton and many nieces, nephews, friends and two beloved poodles, "Jacque and Lexus". Predeceased by sons, Leslie W., Charlie E. and daughter, Patricia Lee, daughter-in-law, Jennifer Berryman King and son-in-law, Tom Shepherd; siblings: Palmer, Nathan, John W., Harry Hatton, Margarite Gullady, Bessie Staton, Nellie Stanfield, Edna Staton and Vivian Shrout. She was a retired co-owner of the M&M Day Care Center and educated in the Bath Co. schools and she was the oldest member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints-Winchester Ward. DUE to renovation at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints-Winchester Ward, services and visitation will be held at the First Christian Church-Disciples of Christ, 24 E. Hickman St., Winchester and conducted by Bishop Mike Bennett and Bishop Lenton Wells. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 5-8pm with funeral services on Wednesday, September 11, at 10:30am with burial to follow in Winchester Cemetery with grave side speaker, Bishop Rodney Guedel. Casket Bearers will be Chris, Vince, Doug, II, Clay, Colby King, Lloyd Stanfield, Jack Merideth, Eric Staton and Jerry Riddell. Honorary bearers will be Leslie Kay King, Ralph Carl Whiteman, Mary King, Toni Reese, Lellie Sharon Rice, Diana Moberly, Pam & Rodney Guedel, Debbie Wright, Linda Burkhart, Deanna Merideth, Arnold Sams, Shirley Collins, Clark Co. Home Health Staff, Dr. Brian Andreas and Staff, Mary Jane & Jim Byrne, Pat Reed, Nancy Griffith and Wilma Toler. Donations may be made to the "Missionary Fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, C/O Bishop Mike F. Bennett, 1279 The Ridings, Winchester" or to the "ACS Relay For Life", P.O. Box 4453, Winchester, KY 40392. In care of arrangements is the Rolan G. Taylor Funeral Home, 289 S. Main St., Winchester.

Our condolences to her family who loved and cared for her so dearly. What a wonderful lady. The light of Christ shone in her eyes and could light up a room, even in her final year. She was an example to many of how we should seek to persevere against life's trials.

Judy I was so sorry to hear about the passing of ur mother. I know how u r feeling as u know. The one thing we both know is that are both in a better place. With Francis greeting them. Again I'm so sorry for ur loss.
