I will always remember Dr. Sheridan as my mentor and friend when he was the medical director for the KY DOC for adult prisons. Without his support, I wouldn't have fared as well as i did during my days as a nurse supervisor at Eastern KY Correctional Complex in West Liberty.
He was a man of great integrity, didn't tolerate injustice and provided expert guidance to me and our staff.
I remember his stories about his dogs over the years as well as the pride and love he showed when talking about his wife and other family members.
Rest well my friend. You served us well. The work you accomplished on our Earth was good.

I still miss you daily. You held a special place in my heart. Now I feel you missing from my life. I truly wish we could have spent more time together after you retired. I hope you are walking on streets of gold with your wife and those fur babies of yours. You were my real life super hero.

I just came across this today, Tony was my uncle, my Aunt Donna loved him so very much. Their love for each other and their dogs was beautiful to see. What a kind gentile man...Very very sad to hear of his passing. He will be missed but I know him and Donna are having a ball in Heaven. Rest in Peace

My heart aches. I am just finding this news now.
On September 3rd Tony met us in Lexington at the Horse Park to visit. When I saw him I feared the graveness of his condition. But Tony wanted our time together that day to be about sharing wonderful memories and we did. After we were finished at the dog show we met Tony at the Whole Foods for dinner where we made Him get something healthy to eat. We talked and laughed and reminisced over a journey we shared when I was showing his and Donna's dogs.
Tony was the kindest, most gentle, and selfless man I know. He and Donna were the closest to saintliness that any human can be. Tony was broken when he lost the love of his life. The only comfort now is believing he is again by Donna's side.
I am blessed to have known Tony and that I was a part of the happy doggie part of his life.
Love,
Harry Bennett

Loved Doc worked with him at DJJ. After he retired ran into him at Keeneland one early morning watching the horses work out, we talked awhile and that was the last time I got to see him. He will be missed.

Although I work in the legal branch at DJJ, I also work for the medical branch in a limited capacity. I absolutely loved working with Doc and hated it when he retired even though it was certainly time. I previously worked with him at D.O.C but didn't get to know him until I came to DJJ. He always had me roaring with laughter and we continued to meet for lunch several times a year after his retirement. I always made sure to send him a birthday card and a Christmas card every year after he left. He didn't mince words and I loved that about him. He called it as he saw it. I last had lunch with him at Longhorn about 6-7 weeks ago and last spoke to him about 3 weeks ago. My heart is broken and I will miss him tremendously.

Tony and I shared a journey of taking Donna's and his animals through the rest of their lives. For over ten years we shared stories, laughter, and then the occasional grief when we would lose one to old age. That made us like family at some point and there was really nothing I would not have done for him. He had such a way with words when telling a story or even just in leaving a message for me that there are phrases from a decade ago that I still remember exactly and can hear him saying. He and his animals enriched my life, and I will always hold them and him in my heart.

My best friend in the world. I will miss him so much. We talked so much on a weekly basis that I won't know what to do without him. I can only find peace in his passing by knowing that his sweet spirit can now do all of the things that his physical body no longer allowed him to do. Rest peacefully in heaven Doc. My beloved friend....

I will miss Dr. Sheridan's humor and quick wit. I always loved listening to his stories. He always made a point to say hi to me when I visited him at Central Office. God bless and comfort his family during this difficult time.

Doc was an inspiration to all of the DJJ Nurses who had the pleasure of working with him, I greatly missed working with him and his weekly phone calls just to see how I was doing. There is a special place in heaven for Doc.

The most inspiring, intelligent, and considerate Doctor I have ever met. My heart is shattered. He was my friend and colleague for over five years and after he retired, he continued to call me daily and bring me donuts once a week. He has taught me so much. He will be dearly missed. I loved him like a best friend. May he Rest In Peace and be rewarded for his magnificent soul.

To one of the best, always willing to listen and offer advice along with his great sense of humor, his love of canines, who could not love him. Rest in Peace!!!!
