Pearl Durham Obituary

Pearl Durham of Sand Gap, KY was born October 27, 1901 in Jackson County and departed this life Thursday, May 22, 2003 at the Marymount Medical Canter in London, being 101 years of age. She was the daughter of the late George and Jenny (Lunsford) Witt. Pearl is survived by the following children, Harold "Bull" Durham of Cocoa Beach, Florida, John Durham of Honassa, Florida, Chester Durham and his wife, Edith of Richmond, Burgess Durham and his wife Louise of Sand Gap, Curtiss Durham of Irvine, Fairy Turner of Sand Gap, and Velma Perkins of Cleveland, Ohio, Sandra Nichols and her husband, Ernie of Lexington and Pam McCarty and her husband, Kevin of Lexington. She is also survived by a brother, John Witt of Carlisle, Indiana. Pearl was blessed with 22 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, Levi Bradley Durham; by three sons, Lester, Leonard and Floyd Durham and by the following brothers and sisters, Luther Witt, Fairy Baker, Lloyd Witt, Maude Pearson, Beverage "Democrat" Witt, Boyd Witt and Leonard Witt. Pearl was a member of Clover Bottom Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 26, 2003, 11 a.m. at the Lakes Funeral Home in McKee, with Bro. Graydon Fike officiating. Burial will follow in the Durham & Powell Cemetery. Lakes Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be Sunday, May 25, 2003 at 6 p.m. Guest book at Legacy.com
