Philip Greasley Obituary
Philip dedicated life to higher education and community outreach as an administrator and English faculty member for 30 years at University of Kentucky. He was formerly Dean of University Extension and Vice President of University Engagement, overseeing academic outreach programs. He directed the UK Center at Fort Knox. He was president-elect of the International Association for Continuing Higher Education and the National Coalition for Lifelong Learning Organizations.
Philip was an officer of the Society for the Study of Midwestern Literature. He served as the General Editor of the Dictionary of Midwestern Literature.
Philip is survived by his wife, Marsha. He was a loving father to his children, Mark Greasley (Leah) and Karen Boldt (Adam), and loving grandfather to Ada, Brooklyn, Owen, and Sammy.
Services at Kerr Brothers on Harrodsburg Road Thursday, December 11. Visitation 10 a.m. Memorial Service at 12 p.m.

This is very sad news. Phil was a Midwestern mensch & a steadfast leader of DML. I was an editor for DML I while still a green grad student, & Phil treated me as he did his fellow, more seasoned, editors. I know that he & Marsha were in a nasty car crash some years ago that seemed to really debilitate him. I feel honored & privileged to have been on the same SSML panel with him two or so years ago. RIP, Phil....
