Raymond Tucker Obituary

Raymond E. Tucker, 64, of 186 Marilyn Avenue, Versailles, a retired superintendent for Kentucky Utilities after 36½ years of service, died Saturday, July 5, at his home. The youngest son of the late William Everett and Della Troxell Tucker, he was born in Woodford County. Ray was an active member of the Versailles United Methodist Church and had attended the Antioch United Methodist Church in Perryville. He was a member of the Versailles Lions Club, a member and Past Master of Landmark Lodge #41 F & A M, the Scottish Rite, and the Mended Hearts Association. He was the husband for over 40 years of Bernice Best Tucker of Versailles; the father of Raymond Edward "Eddie" Tucker of Frankfort; and the grandfather of William Jordan Tucker of Frankfort. Also surviving are three sisters, Della (Mrs. James) Atwell of Lexington, Myrtle (Mrs. Dean) Hogan of Frankfort, Margaret Clegg of Florida, one brother, William Everett "June" Tucker and his wife Dorothy, of Versailles, a sister-in-law, Aileen Tucker of Woodford Co., and several nieces and nephews. A sister, Jo Ann Arnold and a brother, Henry Tucker preceded him in death. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 7, at the Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home, Versailles, with Rev. Brian Ebel, pastor of the Antioch United Methodist Church and Rev. Coleman Howlett, pastor of the Versailles United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Marvin Graham, Ken Curtis, Maurice Edwards, Danny McKinney, Mike Canfield, Gus Wade, Don Evans, Williard Corman, Ronnie Dennis, Tony Montgomery, and Jeff Morrison. Friends may call from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. today (Sunday) at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be at 7:00 p.m. following visitation at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Antioch United Methodist Church, 365 Shortline Road, Perryville, KY 40468, the Versailles United Methodist Church, P. O.
