Renee and I had a fun relationship decades ago being dog lovers. As a new resident to Lexington, she introduced me to the Lexington Philharmonic Women´s Guild. Of the last decades, it was at Kroger or a funeral we´d see one another. Her death came as a shock. I´m so sad for Clifton and family. I visited on Saturday and was warmly welcomed. Every detail in the yard and home including garage has her Touch. She trusted her instincts and was a great business woman as well as what is mentioned in obit. It´s a beautifully written tribute.

There isn't a time I don't remember having the Smith family in our lives. Between the deeply bonded friendship of Patti P and Renee, church, charitable events, working at Heinsmith in the 80's, countless celebrations and parties Renee was always the consummate hostess. The best day of my life, my wedding, was spent right there with her! This picture was taken at our rehearsal dinner and is one of my favorites of her. I can hear that laugh! Much love to all of the family. Thank you for all the love over these many, many years. You will be greatly missed. Love, Stacey, Jim, Julia and Emma.

Clifton, Jennifer, Melanie, Caroline, Christopher and your families,
Rick and I wish you all peace in this difficult time.
Your mom was wonderfully kind and dear to us.
We were thinking of her 50th birthday party celebration and all of the great celebrations your parents hosted. We realize as we are now in our 50's - 60's (with grown children).
That being a mother of four was enough to imagine doing well. Yet she did that and so much more. Her benefit to the Arts community including my personal artwork and so much more we have learned about her life are extraordinary. We are blessed to have her memory in our hearts
We are all thinking of you all today and days to come. Knowing all of the hearts that your mom will fill with memories and that will comfort you in time.
Love,
Ashley and Rick Rushing
