Growing up in Campbellsville and scared to death of attending UK, I moved into a Aylesford Place rooming house with Richard (who was already living there)in the summer of 1965. I was then starting graduate school and I think that he was a senior working on his B.A. He quickly eased my transition by immediately treating me like he had known me since we were both boys! I think a few years later that I called him in Prestonsburg once to check on him, and we briefly reminisced. I always wanted to see him again, and now I am so sorry that it is too late. Sincerely and God bless. Steve Horner, Louisville (Just read In Memoriam of current KBA Bench and Bar - 2 Feb 16)

I practiced law with Dick at Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs, and greatly enjoyed his expertise and great nature! My wife, Jane Fitzpatrick Hopson, is probably a distant cousin (she is also from Prestonsburg). He will be greatly missed! RIP
