Robert Hamilton Obituary

Robert "Bob" Mack Hamilton

February 5, 1946 - November 28, 2023

Lexington, Kentucky - Robert "Bob" Mack Hamilton, the husband of Eunice Murrell Hamilton, was born on February 5, 1946, to the late Willie Mack Hamilton and the late Henrietta Brooks Hamilton, in Fayette County, Kentucky.

Bob attended Fayette County Public Schools, including Lafayette High School. After his school years, Bob worked on King Ranch Farm for two years. However, he quickly found his professional calling in automotive sales and service. Bob started out in maintenance at L. R. Cooke Chevrolet in Lexington, and became one of the first African American car salesmen in the area, for a major automotive franchise, in 1969.

Bob's passion for cars, his knack for identifying the right cars for the right people, and his commitment to great service, made him an award winning salesman and sales manager, and also resulted in countless relationships and friendships that continued throughout his life.

However, the most important part of Bob's life was his faith in Jesus Christ. Bob accepted Christ on a cold November evening in 1955, during a revival meeting, at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Midway, KY. A girl named Eunice Murrell gave her life to Christ that same night. Of course, neither of them knew at that time that they would be joined together in holy matrimony less than eleven years later. Together, they would raise two daughters, and faithfully serve the Lord in numerous capacities. As a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church for fifty-four years, Bob served in many ways, including choir member, trustee and church treasurer. Upon joining First Baptist Bracktown, he continued to work for the

Lord, again serving as a trustee, and working in the ICare and Transportation church ministries

In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his brother William Hamilton, Sr., and sisters Mary Hamilton Raglin and Thelma Hamilton Mulder. Bob is survived by his loving and devoted wife of more than fifty seven years, Eunice Murrell Hamilton, daughters Karen Hamilton Holland (Dwayne) and Jennifer Hamilton Williams (Rev. Leon Clark), grandsons Steven Tyler Beatty (Adrianne) and DaRyan Franklin Holland, granddaughters Mikaili Gore and Lela Camille Williams, great grandchildren Jayden Holloman, Avrie Spivey, Ava Beatty and Steven Tyler Beatty, Jr., sister Ollie Hamilton Raglin (Rev. Floyd), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be from 11 AM to 1 PM on Friday, December 8, 2023 at First Baptist Church Bracktown. The homegoing service will follow at 1 PM, with Rev. Rodney McFarland, Jr. officiating; Dr. C. B. Akins, Sr. will be the eulogist. Arrangements have been entrusted to Smith & Smith Funeral

"Bobby" always checked on my dad after his stroke in '73 until he passed in '98. He was a wonderful friend to our family.
