I was very Lucky to have Dr. Lightfoot as a mentor and teacher when I was a resident at University of Kentucky in the mid 90's. He built an outstanding residency program which gave me and many others a solid foundation of both knowledge and professionalism that still serves us well today. I am sincerely grateful. I often tell friends my times at UK with friends and colleagues were amongst the best times of my adult life!

I was so lucky to have Rob as my mentor in rheumatology at the Medical College of Wisconsin. What a physician, teacher and friend! My condolences to his children and grandchildren but our lives are all better for having Robert W Lightfoot in our lives.
Peace,

Dr. Lightfoot saved my husband's life in 2011. Sadly my spouse passed away in 2018 from other diseases but in 2011 Dr. Lightfoot was the ONLY doctor who could diagnose the illness, which he did after we got rid of the neurologist who was terrible ,and Dr Lightfoot diagnosed within 10 minutes of his hospital visit. He was a wonderful kind man in all the followup appointments and my husband was so grateful. We got an extra 5 years before other illnesses began to take hold. I am sure others have similar stories. His family has my sympathy and thanks.

I was lucky enough to be a patient of Dr. Lightfoot. He determined my illness immediately and worked with me to regulate my medication and today I am symptom free. Dr. Lightfoot was so caring and compassionate. My sincerest condolences to his family and loved ones.
