Ruby Davis Obituary
November 2, 1930 - April 5, 2025
Danville, Kentucky - Ruby Gammon Davis, 94, passed peacefully on April 5, 2025. Born November 2, 1930 in Perryville, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Marie Gammon.
She resided most of her life in Danville and Lexington. She was most recently a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lexington where she served and made many wonderful close friends.
Ruby was well loved by all who knew her. Although she never had children of her own, she was like a mother and grandmother to many. She left a legacy of always being there for her family and friends.
Her other lifelong passion was collecting and dealing in antiques. Her home was a showpiece for her furniture and collectibles and gave her great joy.
Ruby's husband Dick Cooper preceded her in death along with her parents and sisters, Mary Akin, Ann Yankey, and Jane Hastie.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held in the Chapel at Calvary Baptist Church, 150 East High Street in Lexington, on April 12, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.

Ruby was a wonderful friend. One day over 30 years ago she brought to work this dress she had found on sale saying it looked like me. I bought it & still wear it, thinking of her each time I put it in. I´ll see you one day Ruby.

Ruby was a wonderful friend and I will miss her very much. I´m sure she is up there now decorating Heaven and putting her interior design skills to work.

Ruby Mae was such a nice lady and a special friend to me. She was always beautifully dressed and her signature French roll hairstyle was perfect. She loved her hometown and her church. I will miss her but I know she is with the Lord.

I worked with Ruby when she lived in Marion ,In. We remained friends and I visited her about a year ago. She was a wonderful lady and she loved her family.
