Bobby and Debbie
I just wanted to let you know how much you guys mean to us. You are in our thoughts and prayers everyday. We can find comfort knowing that we now have a special guardian angel. I lost a first cousin in July at the accident in Berea at Alcan and now Shawn. We have been in the funeral home 6 times since the last of June and my heart goes out to you all. Shawn always had a smile on his face. He was about 4 when me and Greg got married and I have watched him grow up every year coming to granny's at christmas smiling bringing his gameboy, CD player and later guns that he got for Christmas. I will never forgot Shawn and his little red jacket when we got married and Justin was in our wedding. He was so cute. We will remember you in our thoughts and prayers. Love you both, Debbie, Greg, Kelsey and Kourtney

Debbie & Bobby,
I can't even begin to image the pain and sorrow you are going through, but I can tell you this. Shawn was a well love and cared for young man. I have loved him, his whole life. He has always felt like my other son. Jon loved him and I know Shawn loved him too. I wish there were magical words to say to ease the pain, but only God can do that. I am here for you if I can ever do anything. I will always remember Shawn's big smile and giant hugs he always had for me. He was never embarassed to hug you in front of his friend, and that is the way it should be. My love and prayers are forever with you. Mary Rawlins

I only recently got to know Shawn because we had a class together, on tuesday night. But I could tell that he was a very sweet young man after our first conversation. I am an older non traditional student who happens to live in the dorm (the same one as Shawn) and I have a daughter his age. In our conversations he always treated me like I was a regular student not like someone old enough to me his mom. I have been truely blessed to have been given the opportunity to know him for just a short while. His presence will be missed.

Justin,
Words couldn't even say how sorry I am that you have lost your brother. I know you loved him very much. I didn't get to know Shawn as well as I knew you, but he sure was a great kid. I was so happy for him when he walked across that stage for his graduation. And he was proud of himself, and also very proud of his big brother. You both meant so much to Paul (my nephew), and both you boys are like family to us. We will miss Shawn so very much, but he will always be in our hearts.

Although I didn't really know Shawn other than sharing a class with him I have been through loosing my very best friend. For all of those people out there greiving Shawn's death you have to remember all the good times, laugh about the funny times and forget the not so good times. I know this is an incredibly tough time for all of you to be going through, lean on each other for support and you will make it through.

To the parents of Shawn,
I was in a class with Shawn, and only got to know him for a short time. The time that I did get to know him, will be one I remember. He always wanted to know what was going on in the study group we had. It was all girls, if that tells you anything :) He was welcomed into the study group, and Shawn will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers go to the both of you and Shawn's family.

Debbie and Bobby,
My heart was broken when I heard about Shawn's death. I can remember taking care of him at UK Hospital like it was yesterday!!!There were good days and bad days. On his bad days, I remember bringing him a DVD player and some of his favorite movies, trying to make it alittle better. And if I was having a bad day, I knew I could sneek into Shawn's room and he would cheer me up!! I remember he would say,"DeeDee, let me play your favorite song for ya." (He knew I liked hip hop.)Then he would turn on some horrible country song!!!(He knew I didn't like country.) We would both just laugh and laugh!!! That is one of the things I will always remember about Shawn...his big smile!!!(and those darn ole' mutton chops!!) I could go on and on about Shawn!! I just want you two to know one thing. I became a nurse because I wanted to make a difference in peoples lives!! The truth is...Shawn made a difference in my life!!!! Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.
