Steven was one of the most caring and compassionate friends I had known and worked with. He came to me during a life event I had and mentored me and made me see some things I was not realizing. He then checked back with me to make sure I was okay. A lot of this "mentoring" took place in the dugout at our softball games in Anchorage, Alaska. He was a great person and teammate and I learned some life lessons and lessons how to conduct myself on the ball field. Steven was a great person and gentleman.

Steven was there in the OR for a few of my surgeries at Georgetown Hospital. I remember him holding my hand and comforting me as I cried while having surgery while pregnant. He was so compassionate and kind. He will be missed terribly.

As an RN in service to veterans at the Louisville VA for 30 years I was touched by this obituary. Steven touched the lives of veterans and his own family-who could ask for more? Bless his heart.
